Information we collect.

- Profile Data. Your profile photo, biography, date of birth (for age protections), location, golf course preferences, follower and following relationships, and other optional details you choose to share.
- Activity and Ratings Data. Courses you view, rank, review, or interact with; tee time interest and related interactions; social interactions such as followers and following; and comments, uploaded photos, and other user-generated content.
- Device, Usage & Analytics Data. Device identifiers, IP address, app usage data and interactions, performance and diagnostics information, and log data about how you interact with the Service. We may use analytics services to understand usage trends, improve performance, and personalize user experiences.
- Location Data. With your permission, approximate or precise location information to enable features such as discovering nearby golf courses, friends, and relevant content. Location sharing is optional and can be disabled at any time through your device or app settings.
- Marketing & Communication Data. Your preferences for marketing emails and notifications, and engagement data to measure effectiveness.
How we use it.
We use information to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including:
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features.

- To enable social features such as following friends and viewing their course activity.

You may be offered options to share your contact information, profile details, and/or activity with specific golf courses or other business partners. This sharing occurs only if you explicitly opt in and may be ongoing until you revoke consent.
- Trusted Service Providers. Vendors that host our infrastructure, process analytics, send communications, or support operations.
- Aggregated, De-Identified, Derived, or Inferred Data. We may create and share aggregated, anonymized, de-identified, derived, or inferred data (for example, trend reports, benchmarks, or insights) with golf courses, business partners, advertisers, sponsors, and other third parties for analytics, research, benchmarking, commercial insights, and product development.
- Business Partners and Other Third Parties. Business partners, golf courses, sponsors, advertisers, and marketing partners; research institutions and analytics providers; affiliates and future subsidiaries; parties involved in pilots, testing, or experimentation programs.
- Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction.
- Legal Requirements. We may disclose information where required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
Divot does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration unless opted in by the user.

- Access & Update. View or edit your profile and account information in your account settings.
- Privacy. You may set your account to private at any point you wish.
- Data Portability & Deletion. Request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us at admin@thedivotapp.com.
- Advertising & Analytics Controls. Opt out of certain analytics, tracking, or personalization where required by law or platform policy.
- Marketing Preferences. Unsubscribe from marketing emails or notifications at any time (service messages may still be sent when necessary).

Data retention.

Divot is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
Children's privacy.
Divot may be used by individuals under the age of 18. We apply age-appropriate protections to accounts we reasonably believe belong to minors. Sharing of personal contact information with golf courses occurs only if the user explicitly opts in (and may be revoked), location sharing requires affirmative permission and can be disabled at any time, and we may conduct contextual advertising to minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that data in accordance with applicable law.
Links to other sites.
The Service may include links to third-party websites, services, or integrations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Your interactions with third parties are governed by their policies.
Changes to this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new Effective Date. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
